Stephanie I. Thomopoulos is President and Founder of GeriatriCare® Management, a private Care Management firm founded in 1995 that provides individualized services to the elderly and disabled. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1988, and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Catholic University of America in 1990. Ms. Thomopoulos is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. She is also a Certified Care Manager (CMC) and a Certified Advanced Social Work Case manager (CASWCM) by the National Association of Social Workers. She is currently a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Academy of Certified Social Workers, National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, and the Virginia Guardianship Association. Stephanie is the current President of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Mrs. Thomopoulos has extensive experience working with the elderly and disabled. After receiving her Master's Degree in Social Work, she received extensive experience working with the elderly and disabled. She worked at several local hospitals as a discharge planner; in addition, she worked at several local nursing homes and Retirement Communities as Director of Social Services.
Judith
Burkitt is a 1969 graduate of the University of
Michigan School of Social Work. She is a Board
Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia and a
Certified Care Manager (CMC). She is a member of
the National Association of Professional Geriatric
Care Managers, and the National Academy of Care
Managers. She serves on the Board of Directors
of the Jewish Council for the Aging for the Washington
Metropolitan area. Mrs. Burkitt has had extensive post-masters social work experience in a variety of settings, including the University of Michigan Medical Center, St. Elizabeth's psychiatric hospital, Northern Virginia Family Services, and the Arlington County Department of Human Services Aging and Disability Services Division. She has worked for GeriatriCare Management®, Inc. since September, 2003.
Constance O'Connor is a 1994 graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social work. She is a Certified Care Manager (CMC) and a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Mrs. O'Connor has extensive pre and post masters degree experience in various settings including the Franklin County Department of Welfare in Columbus, Ohio, The George Washington University Hospital, The House of Ruth and the Arlington County Department of Human Services Aging and Disability Services. She has worked for GeriatriCare Management, Inc. since October, 2004.
Denise Blankinship is a 1992 graduate of William Paterson University in New Jersey where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She has worked in various hospital settings including geriatric, oncology, surgical and burn care. She has extensive experience working with clients in a home care setting. She has been with GeriatriCare® Management, Inc. since April 2006.
Rosamelia Drake is a 2002 graduate of George Mason University. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management. Mrs. Drake is a Care Manager Assistant. She has worked for GeriatriCare® Management since June, 2005.
Blair Merki joined GeriatriCare® Management, Inc. in 2007 and is in charge of all the scheduling for GeriatriCare® Home Health. She attended Northern Virginia Community college in the early 1980's and became successful in the Mortgage banking field for over 10 years. She also has extensive experience in the Telecommunications field and went on to start a successful business in Northern Virginia.
